Description

The closed door to a fairly small two story home, two voices rose in pitch until the sound carried through transparent windows into the dense woods around them.

In the livingroom the two combatants faced off with several feet separating both their heights and ages. The teen looked up at his uncle with a defiant glare under his ratty blonde bangs. At barely five feet and change Delita was hardly the image of intimidation. Dressed in a simple black T-shirt, a red and orange hoodie, khaki pants, and sneakers there was enough fiery temperament in the young teen for adults twice his age. Eyes of brilliant cornflower blue met his uncle’s without backing down.

Uncle frowned down at nephew with the same intense look of defiance of his deep red eyes. Towering over the boy at six feet two inches the older blonde’s short hair had grown wild, tied loosely at the back into a stubby ponytail. The family resemblance was distant at best, but existed there in the fine details. Mostly those involving stubbornness and an unwillingness to back down when one set their mind to something.

Trying to calm his temper, the older of the pair took several deep breaths before speaking again. “...This isn’t about me. I do what I have to do to protect this city and the people in it. I’ve been doing it a very LONG time. Creator, you’ve just barely just started high school! There’s too much out there that you’re capable of that isn’t the front lines of a war.”

The answer came in a juvenile pleading whine, but the determination was there stronger than ever. “It’s a war I want to help fight! Why can’t you see that?”
